The 2017 Great Lakes Hop and Barley Conference will be held Thursday and Friday March 2-3 in Detroit, Michigan at the Westin Book Cadillac.

The conference will feature separate basic and advanced sessions for hop growers as well as a barley session and malting tour that is designed for both growers and brewers. Several prominent speakers from around the country will be on hand to discuss: horticultural practices, pest and disease control, harvest and post-harvest practices, nutrient management, and much more. There will also be a brewer/grower networking session that focuses on hop and malt barley quality.

Philadelphia Grain and Malt Symposium, presented by Deer Creek Malthouse, Fair Food Philadelphia and The University of the Sciences.

Event supports new industry relationships with all members of the local food and beverage malt/grain value chain, and to contribute towards Mid-Atlantic grain/malt science and education.

Advance Tickets: $20; At the Door: $25. Ticket includes full admission to all seminars, the panel discussion and food and beverage showcase. ** You must be 21 years old or over to attend this event.

Technical presentations will open the half day symposium, followed by an industry panel discussion. Then, attendees will be treated to a Local Food and Beverage Showcase, featuring local grain & malt delicacies prepared by local businesses. In addition, this year will highlight 6 experimental beers brewed at USciences, which evaluate the impact of barley variety on beer flavor.
